When we realized that there was no possible way we were ever selling this house, we decided that we needed to grow. With the two little ones, we spend a lot more time at home, and a lot more time outside! We needed a place that we could spend time as a family, and where the kids could be outside, but still enclosed. So we decided that we would add on a patio. We live on a cul-de-sac with a backyard that is completely exposed to the street behind us. So the first step was doing some privacy landscaping. The next step was the pavers and a screen, and finally, the furniture! The guy who can hardly hang a photo straight convinced me to tackle a custom dining table with him (completely from scratch; framing, sanding, staining...if you need guidance on a great distressing technique, start following http://ourvintagehomelove.blogspot.com). It took a lot of hours, but it was the final touch. We spend almost every day out there, eating dinner, playing with the kids, or watching a movie on the screen that we put up...so glad we did it!
