Happy 65th Mimi!

If you know my mom, you also know that she hates birthdays. She doesn't like attention, and would be happy if the day passed without any recognition. If you know me, you know I'm not letting that happen. Instead of throwing her a huge 65th birthday party in January, I decided to get her a combined Christmas/birthday trip to her favorite city, Chicago. Aunt Kim met us there, and you know when she's around, everything is more fun. We went to museums, did some shopping, had lots of laughs (and cocktails), and even saw Greta Van Fleet.

New York, New York....

Thanksgiving is my very favorite day of the year. I love waking up early, then watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on the couch in my pajamas, but I have always dreamed about being there in person. Last year, Santa graciously gave us a trip to NYC for Thanksgiving 2018, and we couldn't have been more excited! It just so happened to be the coldest Thanksgiving Day on record (18 degrees), but that didn't stop us from filling our days with fun! We even got to see them blowing up the inflatables the night before the parade, and were surprised with a quick burst of snow flurries! We visited the 9/11 museum, had a great Thanksgiving dinner, went to Chelsea Market, wandered the American Museum of Natural History, got caught in a revolving door at Rockefeller Center, had a snowball fight at Central Park (then went to the zoo), and ate our weight in pizza! It was a great trip :)
