Yeah, as a matter of fact, I DO like being busy!

For those of you who have missed my insightful and absurdly clever pregnancy blogs (clearly, my sarcasm is ever present), I'm back! Yup, in October, Brixon will be a big brother! I'm a little over 8 weeks along, and feeling every bit of it. Absolutely exhausted, nauseous from sun up to sun down, and loving Lucky Charms and sour neon gummy worms (What?!?! Not part of the food pyramid?) I'm not used to having so little energy. I'm the type of person that will create things that absolutely 'have' to be done, if I have even one hour of free time. Now I can barely get off the couch. Hopefully this will lift soon, because Mt. St. Laundry is about to erupt in my closet. Although Nick has been helping out a ton!
We will definitely be finding out what we are having. With Brixon, I had a really strong intuition right from the start that it was a boy. With this one, I really feel like it is a girl. And Brixon tells us he is going to have a little sister (although I think he may have been programmed by a grandma or Aunt Tara!), but we'll see in about two months! Either way, we have picked out the name Hudson. The middle names, which we haven't decided on yet, will depend on the gender. Whatever we have, I'm sure when he or she can talk, he/she will tell me how much she enjoyed riding every roller coaster at Universal Studios (twice), and dancing with mom and dad (see the approximate 30 photos in the two blog postings below :/)!!

Dancing with the (Charlotte) Stars

Friday, March 4 was a day long awaited in the Nemec house. After months of practice (and a whole lot of arguing...you try and teach your spouse how to dance, and then we'll chat...), it was time to perform. Dancing with the Charlotte Stars is a fundraiser for the Arts and Humanities Council, featuring six local 'celebrities,' and their partners, from two local dance studios. Nick was chosen as one of the local celebrities, and I was chosen as a professional. Fortunately, we were partnered together. Although incredibly stressful at times, we had an absolute blast at the final performance! We danced a jive/swing/waltz/quickstep/freestyle to 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' by The Proclaimers, and Nick did so great! I was very proud of him!! Although we were awarded the highest score, it was a fundraiser and we did not raise the most money, so we ended up in third overall. But regardless, we could have come in last, and would have still loved every second of it! Here are some photos of the event...if you look at them fast enough, it's kind of like watching it live :)
