Nick's First Father's Day
Wow! Another busy weekend! Higher Ground had their recital this weekend, and I was performing, teaching and stage managing, so I spent all of Friday and Saturday at North Port High School...it was a great show, and I had forgotten just how much I love performing! Sunday was Nick's first Father's Day, and he let ME sleep in! What a guy! I woke up to hear Nick playing with B in his ExerSaucer...it was really cute. We spent the day with our parents, Tara, and Nick's aunts and uncles at Nick's parents house. It was 95 degrees, so we spent the whole day in the pool. It was such a great time!

We've got a little toofer!
My little man is growing up...last Wednesday, Brixon started waking up every two hours again. After we had just gotten into a steady routine! I wasn't sure what was going on, but he was not a happy camper between the hours of 8pm and 6am. During the day, he was great! Leaking like a faucet, but happy! I thought he might be in the early stages of teething, but yesterday I was feeling along his bottom gums, and sure enough; there was a little bump! Just another reminder of how quickly time goes! On Friday, he also started rolling from front to back like it's his job! He started doing it a couple of weeks ago, but it has been pretty slow and inconsistent. Now, he flips right over when you put him on his belly! What a weekend for development!

Road Trip!
This past weekend, we took Brixon on his very first road trip! We went to our friends Zac and Sarah's wedding up in Jacksonville, which is about a 5-hour drive. I was a little nervous..actually terrified, let's not kid ourselves...at the prospect of an infant in the car for five hours. But he did great! Not a tear was shed!! He slept, chatted and watched "Finding Nemo" on the mini DVD player that Mimi got him! When we got there, Zac and Sarah invited him to the rehearsal dinner with us, and he was a hit! He couldn't have been more well-behaved!! The next day we went out to the pool for a bit, and then Tara watched him while we went to the wedding and reception! Nick and I had a great time with our friends. It was great to have some mom and dad time! We drove home on Sunday, and he was just as good as on the drive up! He went through a phase there for a while where we were pretty sure he was going to be an only child :) But thankfully it was just a phase, and now he's the same happy, laid-back baby he was when we first brought him home!!! It is amazing what wonders a good schedule will do!
As far as his new tricks, he has rolled from back to front and from front to back, although his arm gets stuck underneath his neck!! We're working on that one...He also manages to completely flip himself around in his crib. He used to do that in his bassinet, but I always thought it was just because the material was a little more slippery! He's a squirmer! Although I think I realized that from the very first ultrasound! He's been doing great with the solid food, eating carrots, peas, green beans, bananas, apples, prunes, and rice cereal so far. Now when Nick and I eat in front of him, he smacks his lips together and sucks in his bottom lip, like "Hey! I'll take some of that quesadilla, lady!"
Here are some photos of the weekend...
