I'm not sure at any moment in my life, I said to myself "gosh, I would love to own a hospital gift shop." But that is exactly what we have taken on! The opportunity came up, and we thought it would be a fun venture! We opened a gift shop/boutique called Joie de Vie ('Joy of Life' in French) at Charlotte Regional Medical Center last Friday, September 13th. Let me tell you, it has been far more work than I anticipated, but we are having a lot of fun with it! My mom is the manager, and she has been doing a great job! Since it is a non-traditional environment, you really have to know how to interact with people in different emotional and physical states, and she really excels at that. We also have another associate, Alecea, who has also been wonderful. Enjoy the transformation photos (if only they would have let me rip the ceiling and carpet out :))...and thanks dad for all of the great wall art!
